Fredericton Open House Events and Launch

December 01, 2007

Fredericton Clergy Breakfast

We were pleased to begin our Fredericton open house launch day by hosting fifteen clergy members from up and down the St. John River Valley for a breakfast meeting held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Fredericton, NB.

Our presentation highlighted the content and useability features of each segment of the RAVE website. As well, members of the RAVE Project team had the opportunity to describe their particular areas of interest and research and how these fit into the overall project. We then opened the discussion for a question and answer segment followed by an opportunity for those in attendance to do some networking with old and new acquaintances.

The clergy members present were very enthusiastic about the resources provided on the RAVE site and many of them agreed to contribute specific content and feedback.

We came away from the event with renewed energy and enthusiasm for the continued expansion of our current web resources and for undertaking research and development of new segments.

While we do not have pictures of our open house luncheon held at the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Center it was a grand event. We had members of the Fredericton and area advocacy community, the UNB community, the provincial government, and local shelters moving between our RAVE stations located around the Center for demonstrations of our website, video clips and for signing-up those interested in providing content. At this event we received important feedback and suggestions for continued development of our site.

The final event of our launch day was an open house at our RAVE offices located in the Enterprise UNB Building on the University of New Brunswick campus. We had visitors from around the campus drop in to meet the RAVE team and to view our website. There were several stations available around the offices so that visitors could view slide presentations, video clips and the RAVE website.

The day proved to be a great success and numerous people from around the Fredericton area and beyond were introduced to the RAVE resources.
