Mending Broken Hearts Mending Broken Hearts - Lesson #3 Advice Survivor Response
Response from a Survivor
Everyone likes to think that when faced with a situation like Brenda’s they would do the right thing, just like Ruth did. I was deeply hurt by the lack of compassion from friends who described themselves as my “family.” They rejected me in my hour of greatest need. I was saddened when my Christian friends offered only prayer when what I really needed was a grocery card for food that week, a babysitter while I went to court, an invitation to spend time with their family, or hug when I was desolate. It was a lonely and desperate time.
